Feeling blissful during the post-partum period

The post partum period is incredibly challenging for any mother; new or highly experienced. Hormone levels plummet causing an emotional rollercoaster ride. Fatigue and exhaustion kick in due to what feels like endless, sleepless nights. Many parents experience a general sense of feeling overwhelmed. If one doesn’t make time for rest and self love, this exhaustion and low state of vibration may lead to depression. Unfortunately, someone who is depressed is then unable to provide their highest level of care of their baby.


The practice of yoga and Ayurveda can help make the post partum period as beautiful and enjoyable as pregnancy itself. Taking time to ground ourselves, being able to have time to focus on one thing at a time (all mother’s out there know what I’m talking about!) being able to breathe deeply, to move our bodies in ways that encourage healing, gentle strengthening, and balancing of hormone levels, promotes positive energy. And this is exactly what is needed to make it through the post partum period shinning bright. Many new parents become consumed by their lack of energy and negative state of mind and this leaves them unable to embrace the beautiful first months when happiness and love set the foundation for a child’s future and growth.
